"The Cleansing" Flash Fiction Story

I responded to a flash fiction challenge posed by Chuck Wendig, the novelist/screenwriter, on his "terribleminds" site. Chuck requested horror flash fiction stories with a theme of "vacation hell."
My story, "The Cleansing" now appears on his site as a guest post. It's my first attempt at horror, and I think it's more like "horror-lite," but I am grateful for this opportunity.

Thanks, Chuck!

  1. Way cool, Kathleen! I'll have to check this out. BTW, what timing. I just happened to read about the Discount Noir anthology over at John DuMond's blog and saw your name listed there, too. Awesome.

  2. Thanks, le0pard13 ~ I'll have to check out John's blog. I'm thrilled about Discount Noir, and of course having a story on Chuck's site. But that's not all! I have a story in the about-to-be-released W.W. Norton's Hint Fiction: An Anthology of Stories in 25 Words or Fewer, edited by Robert Swartwood. If you can believe it, my fellow contributors in that book include Joyce Carol Oates, James Frey, Peter Straub, Ha Jin, Tess Gerritsen, J.A. Konrath, and many, many more. I'm still pinching myself!
